The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday reported an increase of 751 coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases, bringing the total to 19,748.

Of the overall tally, 221 are fresh cases while 530 are late cases.

“Today’s fresh cases are based on the daily accomplishment reports submitted by only 30 out of 42 current operational labs,” it said in a bulletin.

The DOH also reported 90 recoveries, raising the number to 4,153.

Meanwhile, the death toll now stands at 974 after eight new fatalities were reported.

Of the 13,969 active cases, 795 are asymptomatic, 13,095 have mild symptoms, 60 are in severe condition, and 19 in critical.

As of June 2, DOH said the bed capacity for Covid-19 patients totals to 13,518– 2,891 are ward beds (35.8 percent occupied), 9,313 are isolation beds (36.3 percent occupied), and 1,314 are ICU beds (34.6 percent occupied).

To date, there are over 50,000 beds in community-managed facilities for quarantine and around 3,190 beds in those managed by the national government. (PNA)
