The compassion and willingness to help among Filipinos during crucial times have been proven over the years. And these traits have been showcased once again as the nation faces a crisis with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Filipinos are always known to be resilient. In spite of the physical restrictions due to the ECQ, we still manage to find ways to contribute and help through various platforms such as social media.

Due to the immense free time some have on their hands these days, talents are being discovered from here and there. Among these gifted Filipinos is this group of music artists who recorded an original song for the frontliners.

On April 16, lawyer Michelle Duguil (who goes by the name Dg Mc on Facebook) uploaded the music video of ‘HEAL AS ONE’ on Facebook. In the entry, she also revealed that she did not come up with the idea, but her dad.

Yul Duguil (as credited in the post), 67, was initially determined to help out frontliners and street dwellers amid the COVID-19 outbreak, but was unable to due to his age and pre-existing conditions— to which Michelle joked how frustrating it is to raise a parent.

Eventually, he figured out an outlet where he can creatively channel his good intentions: music.

In a song titled, ‘HEAL AS ONE’, lyricist and composer Yul Duguil odes to the brave frontliners, who are working hand in hand to fight the pandemic. It even has a very relevant and moving rap verse!

“I’m confident I will be saved ’cause you’re my friend and hero,” Yul wrote to the modern-day heroes.

Kudos to Yul Duguil and the fellow artists! Listen to ‘HEAL AS ONE’ below:
